"Warning: Document contains one or more extremely long lines ..."

Hi,

i created a large Integration Services Package. When I start now the Project an open the Package, I get a Message

"Document contains one or more long lines of text. These lines will cause the editor to respond slowly when you open the file. Do you still want to open the file?"

What does this Message mean for me? Which mistake did I?

What was a bug prior to SP1. It is just a warning, so for the time being you can just ignore it. That should disappear from new created packages after you apply the latest SP

Here is my table

Select Top 1 * from Student

This would give you the first row based on just the sno. Depending on if you would want to see row 1 or 3 would be dependent on the order by. So to get sno[1] use "order by sno" alternately for the last sno[3] "order by sno desc".

Select top 1 sno from student order by sno

or

Select top 1 sno from student order by sno desc

The coalesces are done to remove NULLS from the math.

In reality, it would be better if you build your table as:

dateOfScore

mark

Then you can sum any number of marks like this:

select studentNumber, sum(mark)

from studentMarks

group by studentNumber

"The package contains two objects with the duplicate name" - Package Created in UI - D

I've begun to get the above error from my package. The error message refers to two output columns.

Anyone know how this could happen from within the Visual Studio 2005 UI? I've seen the other posts on this subject, and they all seemed to be creating the packages in code.

Is there any way to see all of the columns in the data flow? Or is there any other way to find out which columns it's referring to?

I just can think about an ugly way; switch to the XML view (right click on the package name in the explorer) and do a 'find' within the code...

Perhaps you created some outpust by hand using the advanced editor of some components

Well, next time it will be the XML editor. The problem went away "by itself".

I downloaded something that installed an SQL instance of <Machine
Name>NETSDK. It contains Northwind, Pubs, and other sample databases. Does
anyone know how I got this? For the life of me I can't remember.

If you installed .NET SDK (not just .NET framework), that is when you might
have also installed MSDE. But it would be installed automatically. It is
only when you choose to install .NET tutorial.

NetSDK is the name of your MSDE instance. That name was used because the
scripts set up to create your sample databases (Pubs, Northwind, etc.) were
written to expect that instance name.
As you say those databases have been created, it looks as if everything is
as it should be.

to. Your "<MachineName\NetSDK" instance on MSDE IS from your installation
with or without your awareness. As I said, in previous reply, it is most
likely installed when you set up .NET tutorial. from .NET document. Of
course you can choose to install it without instance name in the
expenctation that .NET tutorial not working.

MSDE coming with .NET SDK or VisualStudio.NET. If your MSDE is directed

|||It was downloaded from MS. But I installed something else and I don't know
what. Add/Remove programs shows MSDE and MSDE (NETSDK). I must have installed
something else because there are two entries but I only installed MSDE once.

Does anybody know if I can have more than one distribution server for a
publishing server ?

I have a publishing server which contains 2 databases. I want to publish the
first database to Distribution server 1, and database 2 to distribution
server 2. Is this possible ?
I can't see any reason why not, though I've never personally tried it.
There is a limit of one distributor per published database, since there can
only be one log reader reading any one transaction log at a time.

vice-versa.
